Longhaired Chihuahua

Too thin coat that resembles bareness is a disqualification. Every color and pattern is permissible in this breed, but solid light colors are preferable. These dogs make ideal family companions and admirable lap dogs, well suited to an apartment lifestyle. The dog originated in the same-name state of Mexico, and is a descendant of the Techichi breed that was thought by ancient Aztecs and Toltecs to possess some sacred power. Skeletons of those dogs have been found in ancient graves. Most probably, they were buried with their owners in order to keep them secure and happy in the afterlife.

Longhaired Chihuahua -

There exist two types within this breed and the difference is based on the length of the coat. In dogs with longer coats, which are more popular, the coat should be of a soft texture, either flat or slightly curly, with undercoat preferred. They come in various colors, including chestnut, fawn, silver, steel blue, black-and-tan, sand and so forth. They also come in splashed patterns without any limitation.
