Such people cannot make responsible owners for these dogs, because they don’t appreciate their personality and looks, but buy a dog on impulse or as a matter of prestige. Usually, such buyers find backyard breeders who charge extra for a blue Chihuahua puppy.

Chihuahua dogs are generally very expensive. Show quality Chihuahuas cost around $2000. So-called tea-cups and Chihuahuas with rare coat colors are even more expensive. The only way to get a high quality Chihuahua is to purchase it from a responsible breeder. Such dogs are rarely available from a rescue. It’s next to impossible to find a blue Chihuahua in a rescue, as anyone who has bought a blue Chihuahua for sale can easily find a new owner for a pet, when he/she cannot keep it for some reason.
